Even though the Lebanon Yellowjackets scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the West Plains Zizzers still came out on top. West Plains walked away with a 71-63 win over the Yellowjackets. The victory was all the more spectacular given West Plains' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 117th).
Despite the loss, Lebanon still got an impressive performance from Caleb Ray, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Ray pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Carr, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
West Plains' victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Lebanon, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
West Plains will head out on the road to square off against the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kickapoo will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Lebanon will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rolla will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
