Softball Recap: Air Academy Has No Trouble Against Lewis-Palmer

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lutheran, Air Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Lewis-Palmer Rangers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Kadets, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bailey Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keira Finkle, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kylen Tucker-Flynn was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Air Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis-Palmer only posted an OBP of .190.

Air Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Air Academy will venture away from home to square off against Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will head out to face off against Elizabeth at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
