Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sofia Meer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Meer has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Lucy Shaw was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost, one person who can't be blamed is Savannah Hall. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The contest was Hall's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaya Cobb, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Central now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Central will head out on the road to face off against New Foundations at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will be home for the holidays to greet Academy at Palumbo at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Academy at Palumbo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Carver High School of Engineering & Science likes a good challenge.
