Basketball Recap: Corona's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Corona extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Alex Flores. The Panthers came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 54-50 W against the Beaumont Cougars thanks in part to Flores, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 32 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The game was her fifth in a row with at least 19 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Acosta, who posted four points. Acosta is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Corona's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Beaumont, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.

Looking ahead, Corona won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Katella at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaumont, they will face off against San Jacinto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
