Archbishop Riordan was the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over Capuchino on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their one-run performance the game before.

Nathan Zuromski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Archbishop Riordan got a massive performance out of Santino Williams, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in runs. Chase Oliver was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Archbishop Riordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Carlmont came up short against Half Moon Bay on Tuesday and fell 5-2.
Tyler Webster was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Archbishop Riordan pushed their record up to 4-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carlmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Carlmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Archbishop Riordan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Carlmont, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Archbishop Riordan keep running through batters, or will Carlmont buck the trend?
Archbishop Riordan suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Carlmont in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Can Archbishop Riordan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
