The King/Drew Golden Eagles will face off against the Fremont Pathfinders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Fremont will be up against a hot King/Drew squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Golden Eagles came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Marquez. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Eagles have posted since March 20th.

Danilo Meade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sammy Ventura, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Fremont hadn't done well against Sotomayor recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Pathfinders narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wolves 8-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Pathfinders, who have now won three games in a row.
James Harris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Harris was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Fremont let Joshua Gonzalez and Diego Maldonado run wild. Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one run, while Maldonado went 2-for-3 with three runs. Those three hits gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrian Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
Fremont's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for King/Drew, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. King/Drew has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fremont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
King/Drew was able to grind out a solid win over Fremont in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
