The San Pasqual Academy Dragons were the 28-25 winner over the West Shores Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. San Pasqual Academy was dealt a 44-7 defeat at the hands of West Shores on Tuesday.
West Shores' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joana Cabrera, who scored seven points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Nayeli Acosta, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
San Pasqual Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for West Shores, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Pasqual Academy will challenge Borrego Springs at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for West Shores, they will head out on the road to face off against Desert Chapel at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
