The Huntington Park Spartans can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They claimed a resounding 54-22 victory over Roosevelt at home. With Huntington Park ahead 30-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Ingryd Hernandez was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 25 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Huntington Park's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kandie Chavez, who scored 13 points.
Huntington Park's victory bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Roosevelt, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington Park will take on South East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
