Credo is 0-3 against Healdsburg since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Credo Gryphon will be playing at home against the Healdsburg Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m.
Credo blew St. Vincent de Paul out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday St. Vincent de Paul got their revenge. Credo fell just short of St. Vincent de Paul by a score of 6-4.
Credo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braeden Swift, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Tommy Simmons was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Healdsburg got themselves on the board against Middletown on Friday, but Middletown never followed suit. They blew past the Mustangs 6-0. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Henry Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.
In other pitching news, Eric Nielsen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Xander Harms, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Nova Perrill, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Healdsburg back to even at 1-1. As for Credo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
