Baseball Recap: Soledad's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Soledad had lost six games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 8-13 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Salinas Cowboys by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Aztecs: when they faced off against the Cowboys back in March, they had to take a 13-2 loss.

As for Salinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. Cowboys fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Soledad since on Tuesday.

For Salinas' part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Isla, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Isla has become a key player for the Cowboys: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 6-11 otherwise. Chase Agee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Looking ahead, Soledad will take on St. Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salinas, they will challenge Hollister at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Haybalers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Cowboys' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
