The Homer-Center Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 66-35 win over Purchase Line on the road. The win was some much needed relief for Homer-Center as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
When it comes to explaining why Purchase Line lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anna Layden. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Weaver, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Homer-Center's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Purchase Line, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
Homer-Center will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Chucks at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Purchase Line, they will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Tide at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
