Cumberland Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Lebanon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cumberland Valley, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Cumberland Valley's game was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They pulled ahead with a 38-37 photo finish over Carlisle.
Cumberland Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bella Mcintire out in front who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sanai Hill, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mt. Lebanon lost to Peters Township on the road by a decisive 57-42 margin last Thursday. While losing is never fun, Mt. Lebanon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Peters Township is ranked fourth).
Cumberland Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-14 record this season. As for Mt. Lebanon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Cumberland Valley might still be hurting after the 53-32 defeat they got from Mt. Lebanon in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Cumberland Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
