Monticello had won five straight at home, but on Saturday they bumped up to 14-3 to make it six. Everything went their way against the Buffalo Bison as they made off with a 12-4 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cale Holthaus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Dom Marschel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Carter Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered against Monticello since May 17, 2016.
On Buffalo's side, they got a good showing from NOLAN MULLENBACH, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, MULLENBACH gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025.
At the plate, TYSON MOORE was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of RILEY WEST, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will welcome St. Cloud Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buffalo, they will host St. Michael-Albertville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
