The San Domenico Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. Everything went their way against Lick-Wilmerding as San Domenico made off with a 65-40 victory. San Domenico has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.
Lick-Wilmerding's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauryn Lacap, who scored ten points along with two steals. Lacap is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Moy, who scored eight points along with three steals.
San Domenico has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Lick-Wilmerding, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Domenico will square off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Marin Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the Panthers are ranked 144th). As for Lick-Wilmerding, they will head out on the road to face off against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. University has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
