Hopewell-Loudon will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Lakota on Wednesday. The Chieftains put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 17-10 win. The result was nothing new for the Chieftains, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
AnneMarie Berg was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Karsyn Snyder also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Old Fort, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Danbury on Wednesday, sneaking past 11-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Stockaders needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
The team relied heavily on Abbi Ward, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marah Miller, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Old Fort's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hopewell-Loudon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Old Fort, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Hopewell-Loudon's sizable advantage in that area, the Stockaders will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hopewell-Loudon took their victory against Old Fort in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
