The Aquinas Falcons will face off against the Huntington Beach Oilers at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Aquinas has five wins , while Huntington Beach has six dating back to last season).
Aquinas' usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Oaks Christian hitters got past them. Aquinas had just enough and edged out Oaks Christian 11-10 on Saturday. The 11-run effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jacob Bitonti was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bitonti was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Carter Hadnot was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Estaban Olazaba was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Aquinas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Huntington Beach won against Fountain Valley on Thursday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Huntington Beach had just enough and edged out Marina 4-2.
Like Aquinas, Huntington Beach also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Porter. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Porter was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Jake Frohn looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayton Greer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Weinstein, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Aquinas pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 10.2 runs thus far As for Huntington Beach, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Aquinas came up short against Huntington Beach in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, falling 4-1. Can Aquinas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
