Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 30 to 12 on the offensive boards, a fact the Chowchilla Tribe proved on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-21 win over Fresno Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chowchilla.
Chowchilla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nour Escheik led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Escheik has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Molly Silva was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Fresno Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Sarah Guglielmana and Anna Pascual. Guglielmana scored eight points along with 11 rebounds, while Pascual scored seven points along with three steals. Pascual hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
The victory got Chowchilla back to even at 9-9. As for Fresno Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
Chowchilla will be playing in front of their home fans against Minarets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Minarets is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Fresno Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
