After flying high against the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack on Thursday, the Harbor Pirates came back down to earth. Harbor ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-22 walloping at the hands of Gunn on Saturday. Harbor was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.
Harbor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Malalai Etamadi, who scored seven points.
Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Gunn, their win bumped their record up to 1-5.
Harbor will be home for the holidays to greet Ceiba College Preparatory Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gunn, they will head out on the road to face off against Sacred Heart Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sacred Heart Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gunn in California (Sacred Heart Prep is ranked 529th, while Gunn is ranked 1164th).
