Football Recap: Jones County Takes a Loss

While it was Jones County who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Ola who put up more. The Greyhounds were just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to the Mustangs. If the Greyhounds were looking for revenge after losing 7-3 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jones County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cason Taylor, who threw for 278 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.5% of his passes. 124 of Taylor's passing yards were hauled in by Nate Vaughn.

Caden Worley was a one-man wrecking crew For Ola. as he threw for 339 yards and three TDs while completing 76.7% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Worley a new career-high in passer rating (146.4). Jacoby Parker also helped out as he racked up 149 receiving yards.

Jones County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ola, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
