The Bishop Montgomery Knights will head out to face off against the Elsinore Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Montgomery's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Elsinore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Bishop Montgomery is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand West Covina an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

West Covina's batters probably weren't too happy with Pierson Howe, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Howe has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harrison Howe, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Sean Yanko was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Elsinore's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Covina.
Brayden Stankus tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Ivan Huerta was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tyler Willeford, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Elsinore is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 18-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop Montgomery has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Elsinore struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
