Softball Recap: Kearney Wins Going Away Against Lincoln High

Kearney won the last time they faced Lincoln High and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bearcats blew past the Links 16-1. The game marked the Bearcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Kinleigh Coffman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Siena Bonk also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Kearney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln High only posted an OBP of .267.

Kearney has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Lincoln High, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Kearney will square off against Lincoln East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln High, they will challenge Ponca at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
