The Lackey Chargers were the 49-31 winner over the Great Mills Hornets when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Lackey took a hard 39-20 fall against Great Mills on Friday. Lackey has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
A'Naija Bush was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds for Great Mills. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Samara Lloyd was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lackey's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Great Mills, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lackey will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Westlake at 4:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Great Mills, they will challenge Wilde Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilde Lake comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
