Monte Vista got a good showing from Gavin McMillan, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). At the plate, Tony Keeling made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Storz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, De La Salle waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Thundering Herd as they made off with a 7-1 win. Considering the Spartans have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael Dias looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Antonio Castro and Alec Blair did most of the damage at the plate: Castro went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Blair went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Blair has posted since back in May of 2024. Niko Baumgartner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.
