Mt. Eden has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Ygnacio Valley Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Eden will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1016th, while Ygnacio Valley is ranked 479th).
Last Thursday, Mt. Eden was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Berkeley. Mt. Eden has not had much luck with Berkeley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Ygnacio Valley can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Alhambra by a score of 59-50. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Ygnacio Valley considering their 24-point performance the contest before.
Sa'rye Starks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ygnacio Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of K'Si Brooks, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Mt. Eden's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Ygnacio Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
