The Garey Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Big Bear 57-31. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Garey considering their 22-point performance the contest before.
Armani Owens was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The match was her 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah (AJ) Jones , who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Garey has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Big Bear, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garey is on the road again on Monday and play against Azusa at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. Azusa has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Big Bear, they will head out on the road to face off against Indian Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Indian Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Big Bear in California (Indian Springs is ranked 580th, while Big Bear is ranked 1240th).
