Valley Christian has gone 8-2 against Junipero Serra recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Valley Christian will welcome Junipero Serra at 4:00 p.m. Valley Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Valley Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Bellarmine College Prep. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bells: they've now won seven in a row.
Kole Laubach looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Valley Christian's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Quinten Marsh, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Marsh launched this season. Logan Mull was another, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Junipero Serra faced Saint Francis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Junipero Serra had just enough and edged out Saint Francis 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Padres have posted against the Lancers since April 6, 2019.
Nate Hui was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Junipero Serra got a great performance from Riley Lim as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Bradshaw, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Josephson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Junipero Serra's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
