Charleroi has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Monessen Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Charleroi was the victim of a tough 72-49 loss at the hands of McGuffey. That's two games in a row now that Charleroi has lost by exactly 23 points.
Despite their defeat, Charleroi saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bella Carroto, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ella Sypolt, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Monessen fought the good fight in their overtime match against Washington on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Prexies by a score of 38-36.
Charleroi has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Monessen, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.
Charleroi beat Monessen 36-25 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does Charleroi have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monessen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
