In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. Among the action were the efforts of Owatonna's senior Jason Williamson, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Owatonna got a 49 - 25 win over Northfield last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jason Williamson. Williamson rushed for 477 yards and six touchdowns. That performance made Williamson one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Blaine (6th in the power rankings) and Prior Lake (19th). Blaine blew past Prior Lake 34 - 7. The win boosted Blaine a satisfying nine spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
Paynesville has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It put the hurt on Minnewaska Area with a conclusive 56 - 0 victory. Paynesville made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by 26, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Minnetonka (15th in the power rankings) and Eden Prairie (3rd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out on Thursday which team fails to repeat its success.
