The Pomona Catholic Pacers were the 41-13 winner over the St. Lucy's Regents when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pomona Catholic had to suffer through a rough 51-21 loss at the hands of St. Lucy's. Pomona Catholic's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it five in a row.
St. Lucy's got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nadia Bashoura out in front who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for Bashoura. Another player making a difference was Danika Mejico, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Pomona Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for St. Lucy's, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomona Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Paraclete at 6:30 p.m. on December 13th. Paraclete is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. St. Lucy's and St. Genevieve will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
