In what's become a running theme this season, the Gabrielino Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 56-11 victory over El Monte at home. The victory was nothing new for Gabrielino as they're now sitting on five straight.
Gabrielino had a senior duo take command as Mia Lim dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and 17 steals and Sarah Banh scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Lim is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Yamaguchi, who scored eight points.
Gabrielino is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for El Monte, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gabrielino will challenge Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for El Monte, they will head out on the road to face off against Rosemead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Rosemead's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while El Monte has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
