Baseball Recap: Mar Vista Wins Going Away Against Canyon Hills

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Olympian, Mar Vista was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Canyon Hills Rattlers. That looming 7-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mariners yet this season.

Peter Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mar Vista let Bryan Espinoza and Elijah Quinones run wild. Espinoza scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Quinones scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Quinones has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Abbruscato was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win got Mar Vista back to even at 4-4. As for Canyon Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4-1.
