Basketball Recap: Quartz Hill Takes a Loss

Quartz Hill lost against Antelope Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Quartz Hill Royals received a blow as they fell 66-52 to the Antelope Valley Antelopes. That's two games in a row now that the Royals have lost by exactly 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Quartz Hill lost, don't look at Ashantee Palmer. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Palmer's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Avery Hinton, who posted 11 points.

Quartz Hill is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Antelope Valley, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quartz Hill will take on Littlerock at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Quartz Hill is facing Littlerock at the right time seeing as Littlerock is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Antelope Valley, they will face off against Lancaster at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lancaster is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Antelope Valley a 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
