The Liberty Lions will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Pittsburg Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Liberty is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Liberty gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Deer Valley at home to the tune of 72-18. While fans of Liberty might be used to big wins, the 54-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Liberty had a senior duo take command as Madison Perea dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds and Lea Salinas beamen dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Perea is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aly Acosta, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg suffered a tough 60-36 loss at the hands of the Patriots on Friday. While losing is never fun, Pittsburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while the Patriots are ranked 156th).
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Pittsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
