In what's become a running theme this season, the Mountain View Academy Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Palo Alto Academy 56-6 at home. While fans of Mountain View Academy might be used to big wins, the 50-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Leading Mountain View Academy to victory were Kayla Dhumad and Leilani Wright. Dhumad scored 18 points along with two steals, while Wright scored 12 points along with six steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Alai Gutierrez, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Mountain View Academy's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View Academy will square off against DCP Alum Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge El Primero at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
