Gunn has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Mountain View Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gunn will be strutting in after a victory while Mountain View will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Gunn has not done well against Palo Alto recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Everything went Gunn's way against Palo Alto as Gunn made off with a 45-23 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Gunn has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Mountain View unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Milpitas 55-49.
Despite their defeat, Mountain View saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mikayla Kim, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Kambria Conover-Emmert was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Gunn's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
Gunn was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 49-42. Will Gunn repeat their success, or does Mountain View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
