The Routt Catholic Rockets are taking a road trip to square off against the Quincy Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Routt Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Routt Catholic made easy work of Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia and carried off a 15-1 win. The Rockets have beaten the Trojans the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Routt Catholic got a great performance from Jonas Brown as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Brown posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryson Mossman, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 12 contests. Brody Beets also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Routt Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Quincy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Sterling get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday.
Cameron Lawson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lawson was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Chase Saalborn looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Noah Wells was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Routt Catholic's record is now 14-8. As for Quincy, their record now sits at 14-7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Routt Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Quincy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Routt Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Quincy in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
