The Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Sunday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mt. Zion Prep Academy 70-42 on the road.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jniya Weaver, who scored 12 points. The matchup was Weaver's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Banks, who scored 12 points.
Monsignor Scanlan's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monsignor Scanlan will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Gorman at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th. Hopefully Bishop Gorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday. Mt. Zion Prep Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Shabach Christian Academy on Friday.
