The North Monterey County Condors will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Carmel Padres at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Carmel took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Monterey County, who comes in off a win.
North Monterey County can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on December 12th. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Greenfield and snuck past 41-39.
Meanwhile, Carmel's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Salinas an easy 50-25 win. Carmel has not had much luck with Salinas recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Savanna Radowicz put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lillian Grundy, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
North Monterey County's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Carmel, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
North Monterey County took a serious blow against Carmel in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 72-35. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Monterey County was down 39-11.
