The Harbor Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by KIPP San Jose Collegiate at home to the tune of 57-17. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Harbor has managed all season.
Harbor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samantha Herrera out in front who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Herrera scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Malalai Etamadi, who scored 15 points.
Harbor is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Harbor will head out on the road to face off against Gunn at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. KIPP San Jose Collegiate will be home for the holidays to greet Luis Valdez Leadership Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Luis Valdez Leadership Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
