Softball Recap: Omaha Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Omaha Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Buena Vista Bison as they made off with a 17-4 win. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Edie Titus made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Omaha Central let Ada Jantzen and Macy Andrews run wild. Jantzen got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Andrews went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Jantzen has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nichole Palfini, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Omaha Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Omaha Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Buena Vista, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Omaha Central is set to take on their familiar foe Benson on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Buena Vista will challenge rival Bryan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
