The Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 63-40 margin over Rockwood. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 14 more assists than your opponent, as Claysburg-Kimmel did.
Claysburg-Kimmel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Haney out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Haney hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Cory Walter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Rockwood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zander Ritenour, who scored 13 points along with six steals. Ritenour has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Schrock, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Claysburg-Kimmel's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Rockwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Claysburg-Kimmel will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern Bedford County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Bedford County is coming into the game with eight straight defeats on the road, meaning Claysburg-Kimmel will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Rockwood, they will face off against Fannett Metal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
