The Elkin Buckin' Elks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Surry Central, falling 76-48. Elkin has struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surry Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Wilmoth, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Wilmoth hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. Evan Wall was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Elkin has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Surry Central, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkin will square off against the Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Surry Central, they will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forbush has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.
