It was a good run, but the Tustin Tillers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-38 to Dana Hills. While losing is never fun, Tustin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while Dana Hills is ranked 109th).
Dana Hills found their leader in underclassman Kayla Rice, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. Rice has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Esme Korman, who scored 12 points.
Tustin's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Dana Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Tustin will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Costa Mesa at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Costa Mesa is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Dana Hills won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Norco at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th.
