The Covenant Day Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Carmel Christian Cougars at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hopefully Covenant Day focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
 Last Saturday, Covenant Day ended up a good deal behind Gray Collegiate Academy and lost  62-45. While losing is never fun, Covenant Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states  (they are ranked 140th in North Carolina, while Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked 28th in South Carolina).
 Despite the  defeat, Covenant Day had strong showings from  Michael Marcus Jr., who  scored 17 points along with 9  rebounds, and  Chris Rivens, who  scored 14 points.
 Meanwhile, Carmel Christian waltzed into  Saturday's  matchup with two straight wins  but they left with three. They blew past Cary Academy 62-39.
 Covenant Day now  has a losing record at 3-4. As for Carmel Christian,  the  victory  got them back to even at 5-5.
 Covenant Day took a serious blow against Carmel Christian  in their previous matchup  back in November of 2021, falling  96-63. Can Covenant Day avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
