Academy for Classical Education's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Central 18-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gryphons.
Will Mincey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Mincey was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Chase Sasser was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Academy for Classical Education is 2-1 when Sasser posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Slade Hodge was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Jefferson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Washington-Wilkes, falling 17-4.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Academy for Classical Education, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
