This season hasn't been kind to the Selinsgrove Seals, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They fell 31-18 to Juniata on Saturday. The match was a 13-13 toss-up at halftime, but Selinsgrove was outscored by Juniata in the second.
GIllian Hackenberg was Selinsgrove's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Kristin Shaffer held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Juniata can attribute much of their success to Haley Mummah, who scored seven points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Mummah. Regan Lowrey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Selinsgrove's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.2 points per game. As for Juniata, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Selinsgrove will head out on the road to face off against Hughesville at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Juniata and Newport will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
