Gadsden faced Mayfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 4-1 victory. Gadsden might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by three goals or more this season.

Ale Rodriguez and Jayden Gamboa scored all four of Gadsden's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Gadsden pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Mayfield, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 10-3-1.

Gadsden has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 victory against Alamogordo on the 7th. As for Mayfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Organ Mountain on the 7th.
