The Santa Maria Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Rosamond with a sharp 42-16 victory on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Santa Maria.
It was another big night for Nevaeh Madrigal , who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Hill, who scored nine points along with 17 rebounds.
Santa Maria has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Rosamond, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Santa Maria will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Exeter at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Exeter is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Santa Maria a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Rosamond and Quartz Hill will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Quartz Hill will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
