It's playoff time, and Ryan had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Abilene Eagles a 59-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Raiders have won eight games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Quin Henigan had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 316 yards and six touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 35 yards. Those 316 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Jose Melendez was another key player, picking up 148 receiving yards and three TDs.
Another reason for the win was Ryan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Abilene's QB won't forget Kha'Ron Freeman-Wade anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Jaxson Dozier was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
The victory (which was Ryan's seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.1 points over those games. As for Abilene, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.
As of now, neither Ryan nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
