The St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders will venture away from home to challenge the Monticello Magic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While St. Cloud Cathedral's win against Wadena-Deer Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crusaders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wolverines 5-3.

The team relied heavily on Sam Oliver, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Jack Hamak was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
St. Cloud Cathedral was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wadena-Deer Creek only posted a batting average of .276.
Meanwhile, Monticello faced Buffalo in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Magic put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 12-4 win. The victory was nothing new for the Magic as they're now sitting on five straight.
Cale Holthaus made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Dom Marschel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Carter Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
St. Cloud Cathedral's record now sits at 25-9. As for Monticello, their record is now 14-3.
St. Cloud Cathedral came out on top in a nail-biter against Monticello in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
